Non-surgical Gum therapy

Non- surgical gum therapy is a conservative way of treating gum disease. Gum disease is a chronic infection resulting from a build-up of bacterial plaque and tartar below the gum line. This type of bacteria eventually destroys the bone that surrounds and supports the teeth and will inevitably lead to tooth loss when left untreated.

Unfortunately, gum disease and periodontal infections are usually asymptomatic and can be present for many years, without any pain. However, signs such as red or inflamed gums, bleeding gums when brushing or flossing, and persistent bad breath.
Curettage- we will remove the infected gum tissue so that new, healthy gum tissue can grow. We use localized medication (antibiotics for gums), it may be administered directly into the affected areas to promote repair and healing. Root planing is when we give your soft tissue a chance to heal from its disease by
removing and smoothing small amounts of the infected root surface.
