Dentures are artificial replacements for your natural teeth and gums. If an accident, a disease, or poor oral health care has left you with only a few healthy teeth or none at all, dentures can be advised to replace your missing teeth. Dentures are replacements for missing teeth that can be taken out and put back into your mouth. They are sometimes called false teeth. There are 2 types of dentures: partial and complete. Complete Denture can be Conventional or Immediate.

Complete Denture

Complete Denture can be Conventional or Immediate.

A conventional complete denture is placed in your mouth after any remaining teeth are removed and tissues have healed. Healing may take several months, during which time you are without teeth.
Immediate complete Denture
An immediate complete denture is inserted immediately after the remaining teeth are removed. We will take measurements and make models of your jaw during a prior visit before removing all your remaining teeth. While immediate dentures offer the benefit of never having to be without your teeth, they must be relined several months after being inserted. The reason is that the bone supporting the teeth reshapes as it heals, causing the denture to become loose.

Partial Denture

Partial Denture may be used when nearby teeth are not strong enough to hold a bridge, or when more than just a few teeth are missing. Partial dentures are made up of one or more artificial teeth held in place by clasps that fit onto nearby natural teeth. You can take the partial denture out yourself, for cleaning and at night.
